Don Carlos Bland has more than thirty years of experience developing program and technical support services for corporations, national associations, philanthropic organizations, academic institutions, and federal agencies.

 

In 1999, he founded a professional services firm that specializes in designing public relations and marketing strategies for organizations with an interest in improving the quality of life in underserved communities across the nation.

 

From 1996-2003, he served as project director for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Models That Work (MTW) Campaign-a public-private partnership that identified and promoted innovative community-based health improvement

programs.

 

In addition, Mr. Bland has provided training and technical assistance to increase access to health care services in underserved communities, including national initiatives to strengthen statewide strategic planning and resource identification for local/state health officials; curriculum development and  facilitation to enhance the supply of health professionals in areas of greatest need; editorial support and planning to produce a best practices publication on victim services for Indian Country in conjunction

with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Victim Services and the Tribal Law Council; case management and capacity-building assistance for organizations serving minority communities at high risk for HIV infection; and, program development activities which increase the number of minorities

and women that pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

 

He is a resident of the District of Columbia.
